The first section of the book that hooked me in was when
Pudge met Alaska for the very first time. The very first moment Pudge saw
Alaska he knew he fell in love. The part that I liked the best was when Alaska
was talking about the Labyrinth. She made a bet with Pudge, which was like if
Pudge figures out Alaska’s riddle then she would find him a girlfriend. The thing
I liked about it was that she said she would find him a girlfriend, but she
didn’t imply that it would be her. Another reason this hooked me into the book
was because it was in the beginning of the book and they all just met each other
and they act like they’ve known each other forever. One more huge thing about this
part is that Pudge was just introduced to cigarettes and he has never used them
before and the first thing he does with the people that he just meet is smoke.
Overall I find this whole section a huge part of the story because if Pudge did
not had these experiences with Alaska then he might not have the same felling
he has for her.
